Newsletter - Spring 2005

From the director's keyboard

There is much good news around the Church these days. In parts of South London there are churches that are growing , some fast, some making steady progress, and it's good to see God working in the lives of the worshiping communities.

Developments continue apace. We are continuing to add new tracts and posters to the range.

The Ambassador Enterprises side of the organization continues to flourish, with Sound Systems, Video Equipment, Drum Kits, Guitars, Overhead Projectors, Screens, Cassette Duplicators, & Perspex Lecterns being shipped across the country to various churches and fellowships of all sizes and denominations inside the Christian Church

Although it is hard to see it from the outside (or inside for that matter!) we work from what was a salvation Army Church until 1980. This year we will be demolishing it, to make way fro a block of flats with a 1000 sq ft of office and production space, and almost 2000 sq foot of storage. For us. This will more than treble our space, and allow us to move forward into the future with custom equipped and planned space to enable us to serve you better.

We believe in personal service and attention, giving you the confidence of dealing as far as possible with one named individual for all aspects of your dealings with us.

In addition, as a registered charity, like most churches, we have no shareholders or proprietor taking profits out of the organization. Victory Tracts & Posters only exist to produce evangelical materials, and support the spreading of the gospel. Any profit from activities not directly related to tracts and posters is merely a means of supporting this objective.

Change

This process of change and, we trust growth, will no doubt continue, the Lord tells us in His word "Behold I make all things new!" Certainly there have been changes over the past four years since I took over as Director. We've consolidated the tract range, and added distribution of the "Inspirationart" range from the USA, and added a new range from UK artist Tony Trimmer.

We are still talking with a number of smaller UK poster and tract organisations about better co-operation between us. I fail to see any reason to duplicate what other organizations can do as well as we can. It does not make good ""stewardship" of our resources unless we can add a distinctive flavour that is needed by at least one viable section of the Christian church.

I'm very much aware of the changes that have come (and gone) over the 60 years since that small group of ex-servicemen met around a kitchen table in 1945 and formed "The Victory Tract Club". The world has changed almost beyond recognition, and the methods the Church uses to spread the Gospel have often struggled to keep up.

I'm always willing to look at new ideas, whether for tracts and posters, or for something completely different. If it is evangelism, then pick up the phone, email or write to me and the trustees and myself will look at the idea. If it's not where we feel the Lord is leading us, we may well be able to suggest who would be interested in running with the concept.

I'm often heard to say that I regard Victory Tracts as a "Ministry to Ministries", so whether you are a church Pastor / minister, or in local leadership, Bookshop manager or one of the vital; "foot soldiers" out there engaged in one to one contacting and evangelism, our prayer is that The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ will richly bless you, your families and your fellowships now, and in the days to come.

Yours in His Service
